  2. I just found a signed print of October Lizard 293/500. It is framed with rough, red “horse barn” wood according to a pencil note on the back. Can you tell me any more about this picture? Why is it called “Lizard?” for instance. Is that the name of the mountain or plateau?
Thanks for hosting this website, it was great to learn that the picture I have was painted by such a renowned artist!

    • Hi Sandrina
sorry for the delay in getting to you. Glad you have a painting that yuou enjoy so much. The Lizard referred to is actually a Mountian range, I believe. I’ve sent you comment to Jack’s daughter Paula paulaehrler@gmail.com and she will respond soon, I hope.

  3. Hi there , I have a print of Candy’s Walk, also one of cowboy walking white horse into an opening. I was wondering what the value was for resale! We bought them from Jack in Fernie, BC in the early eighties . They are framed.

    Please & thanks
    .

    • Hello Wynn Ann…nice to hear from you,the prints themselves unframed are maybe valued at only around $100…in frames they may be worth more.
take them to an art gallery and make sure they are not originals which are worth $1000’s

the sentimental value for you and inheritors is the real value eh ?

  4. Hi i have a print of 1 rider and 1 pack horse in the snow …cowboy with a red coat on , turning to look back at the pack horse ….surrounded by birch trees…..framed and in need of cleaning 🙂

  5. Hello,

I am looking for a painting by Jack called Making Ready.

Would you happen to know where I could find this?

    Thank you

    Greg

  6. I have a print called Making Ready. Don’t see a number and can’t seem to find this particular work of art online anywhere.
Can you give me any info on it.
    Thanks

    • Originals are valued in the thousands of dollars…print originally purchased for hundreds of dollars can be worth a little more now..depending on condition and the value of the frame..and of course the amount the buyer wants to spend if they like it..email Paula if you want to consider more prints or even originals..thank-you

  7. I have a print of a cowboy walking a white horse in a meadow. It looks to be A31 of 2500. It was in my father’s office. He recently passed and am curious of it’s worth. Thanks.

  8. I have 2 small Jack Lee McLean prints that I purchased in Hamilton, Ontario around 1978-9. One is of 2 cowboys in Fall saddeling up with 2 horse and 2 pack horses outside of a log cabin, the other is in Winter snow saddeling up 2 horses outside a long cabin. They are matted and framed 11x12in. with the prints themselves being 51/2 x 6 in. I am getting ready to retire and downsize and have an estate auction and I was curious as to what they might be worth. Pictures upon request.

    • Beautiful..nice to hear you have enjoyed these so long …value of Jack’s paintings: originals- in the thousands, prints in the hundreds (depending on the value of the frame itself) numbered prints are more valuable. If you want, you can send us pictures lynnbarriemac@gmail.com

    • If it is in good condition and depending on the frame value..it can be worth in the thousands…or whatever the buyer will pay for it…un numbered prints are worth in the hundreds.
